How to Add Discord Friends

Introduction

Add them to your Discord friends list if you’ve met someone on Discord you’d want to stay in contact with, or if you have a real-life buddy you’d like to communicate with. That’s something we’ll teach you how to do.

How to Add Someone to Discord as a Friend

Using the user’s Discord Tag is one technique to add a buddy on Discord. A Discord Tag is made up of a four-digit number, the user’s username (which is case sensitive), and a # (pound or hashtag) symbol. You may get this code from your prospective buddy and use it to add them.

Another approach for adding Discord friends is to search for the person you wish to befriend on a Discord server and then choose an option from a menu. This is a fantastic approach to make friends on a server where both you and your future acquaintance are members.

In this article, we’ll go through both of the ways mentioned above.

Use a Friend’s Discord Tag to Add Them

If you know a user’s Discord Tag, you may add them to your Discord friends list on both desktop and mobile.

On both the desktop and web, you may add a friend

Launch the Discord app or the Discord browser version on your PC. If you haven’t already, log into your account.

Once you’ve logged in, go to Discord’s top-left corner and click “Home,” then “Friends.”

Click Home > Friends in the top-left corner.

Click “Add Friend” at the top of the “Friends” panel.

Select the "Add Friend" button at the top.

A section called “Add Friend” will appear. Click “Send Buddy Request” after typing the Discord Tag of the individual you wish to add as a friend.

Type the Discord Tag and click "Send Friend Request."

Your chosen individual will get a friend request. They then have the option of accepting or rejecting the request. If they accept the request, you’ll find them in Discord’s “Friends” area.

Add a Mobile Friend

Use the Discord app on your iPhone, iPad, or Android phone to add friends.
To begin, open the Discord app on your smartphone. Tap the person symbol in the app’s bottom bar.

Tap “Add Friend” in the top-right corner of the “Friends” tab (an icon of a person with a plus sign).

Tap "Add Friend" in the top-right corner.

Tap the text box on the “Add Friend” screen and type the user’s Discord Tag. Then choose “Send Friend Request” from the drop-down menu.

Enter the Discord Tag and tap "Send Friend Request."

Your buddy request will be sent to the chosen person by Discord. You’ll see them on your friends list after they accept it.

From a Discord Server, Send a Friend Request

You may add someone to your friends list without knowing their user tag if you and the person you wish to befriend are on the same server.

On both the desktop and the web, you may add a friend

On your desktop, open Discord and choose the server to which you wish to add a buddy.

Find the person you want to add as a buddy in the server members list on the right. Then, from the menu, right-click that person and choose “Add Friend.”

  • Tip: If Discord does not display the server members list, select the “Show Member List” option at the top of the server page.

Right-click a member and select "Add Friend."

A friend request has been sent to your chosen user. You may start engaging with them from your friends list after they accept it.

Add a Mobile Friend

Launch the Discord app on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device to get started. Tap the server from which you wish to add friends in the app.

Tap the user icon in the top-right corner of the server page to get a list of all the server’s members.

Select the person you wish to add as a buddy from the server members list.

Select a server member.

Tap the “Add Friend” button on the profile page of the person you want to add a friend to.

Tap "Add Friend" on the member page.

You’ve successfully given your user a friend request. Allow them to accept it, and you’ll be able to interact with them in Discord’s “Friends” area.

That’s how you take sociability in your favorite app to the next level!

Are you in charge of a Discord server? If that’s the case, adding a Discord bot to your server is a good idea. This may help you automate a lot of your server duties.
